What a cute image! Overall, your style stays true with almost every piece in your gallery: sweet, pretty, and warm. The colors you used for the background really bring out that warmth of this moment, especially when you notice how tender the man looks and how energetic the woman looks. Although I don't know these characters, it seems as though (especially given the comment that the commissioner left for you) you did a wonderful job portraying her characters and portraying their spirit in your piece. You captured a great moment and that vision was spectacular!
Now, technically I have a quip (just one!); this may be nitpicking, but what would be the woman's right arm (or the one not being held by the man) looks a tad bit unnatural. I don't think it's necessarily impossible, but it seems just a bit awkward looking to me. Perhaps that's only my opinion (I mean, I am no expert), though, so you should ask some others if they feel the same! As far as "ankle rolling" as the other critic said, I see that more on the woman's foot than I do the man's. The reason for this is basically the line of her leg. Her shin is curved over to the left (viewer perspective) while her foot is facing completely forward. It really doesn't look like she's about to roll her ankle to me, but it does look a bit unnatural, so just watch out for that! I know how complicated feet can be, so I'm sure you'll get better at them.
The rest of the picture is quite well done, I'd say! Your painting technique is beautiful and I love the wrinkles you add to the clothing. I have a clear idea of where light is coming in and how that reflects on the objects of the painting and you do a very good job of that. As far as the shoes go coloring wise, the back shoe on the man sort of blends in with the color of his pants, so perhaps it could have been a different color to make it easier to see the difference? I'm not sure if that was really your fault; again, I don't know the commissioner's characters, so perhaps she had the shoes being the same color as the pants (which is obviously something you couldn't control).
One thing I really want to praise you for is the man's hair; fantastic job with that! Short hair is not an easy thing to pull off, lemme tell ya (although I'm sure all of you know that well). What's even harder? Afro-textured hair. Seriously. I struggle with texture of any kind, but there's something so unique to afro-textured hair that just makes it really difficult to capture. And I think, especially with anime style, you did a fantastic job with this piece. I'm glad your commissioner seems happy with it because it's really evident that you put a lot of effort into it. Fantastic job all around!
